Ahh, I had never read the M. Oliver poem of the mockingbirds and it struck me as perfect and horrible and wonderful-- tragic, and magic. Egads. To be middle aged women in America.... can there be a more difficult role and yet, we must speak up and even shout. It is not ok. "it" is not ok. But this poem does it all the hope, the need to try, and the odds. yikes
